Comprehensive Hail & Storm Damage Restoration Roofing Services You Can Depend On

Biltmore Roofing repairs and replaces roofs damaged by hail and wind across North Dallas–Fort Worth, from our home base in Lewisville, TX. We inspect the roof for free, photograph every bit of damage, and tell you plainly what we found. If you decide to file a claim, we meet your insurance adjuster on the roof and show them the damage. Then we do the work.

We’re a roofing contractor, not a public adjuster. Your insurance company decides what’s covered. Our job is to make sure the damage on your roof gets seen and documented right, and then to fix it right.

Call 817-714-3366 or book a free storm damage inspection.

What Hail and Wind Actually do to a Roof

Texas is one of the top states for hail claims every year, and North DFW sits right in the middle of it. Most of our storms come in spring, roughly March through June, with more in the fall.

The hard part is that most storm damage can’t be seen from the ground. Here’s what we look for when we get up there:

Hail hits on shingles

A hailstone knocks the granules loose and bruises the mat underneath. It looks like a dark spot, and it feels soft when you press on it. That bruise is where the shingle starts to fail, usually years before it leaks. Bigger hail can fracture the shingle outright causing cracked or broken shingles.

Dents in the Soft Metal

Gutters, vents, and drip edge dent long before shingles do, so they tell us how big the hail was.

Wind Damage

Shingles that got lifted and creased, broken seal strips, and tabs or whole shingles torn off. A creased shingle can look fine and still be done.

Granules in the gutters

A lot of granules washing out after a storm is a sign the surface took a beating.

We’ll also tell you what *isn’t* storm damage. Blisters, normal wear, old nail pops, and foot traffic aren’t hail, and calling them hail is how homeowners get burned. If your roof is fine, we’ll say so.

Right After a Storm: What to Do First

Close-up of hail hits on asphalt shingles with granules knocked loose.
Stay off the roof.

A wet, steep roof is no place to find out. We’ll do the climbing.

Take your own photos from the ground.

Dented gutters, damaged siding, broken windows, the hail on the lawn, and the date.

Stop any water you can from inside.

Put a bucket under a drip and move what you can out of the way.

Get a free inspection before you file.

Knowing what’s actually on your roof first helps you avoid filing a thin claim that lands under your deductible.

Check your policy's deadline.

Many Texas policies give you one year from the date of the storm to file, and some give you less. Read yours. Don’t wait on it.

How Insurance Restoration Works With Us

  • Free inspection and photo report. We walk every slope, photograph the damage up close, and check the gutters, vents, siding, and windows. You get the photos and a straight answer.

  • You decide whether to file. It’s your policy and your call. If the damage is real, we’ll tell you. If it’s not worth a claim, we’ll tell you that too.

  • We meet your adjuster on the roof. When the insurance company sends an adjuster, we’re up there with them showing what we documented, so nothing gets missed.

  • We review the scope of work. When your insurance company sends its estimate, we compare it line by line to what’s actually on your roof. If roofing items are missing, we send the photos and documentation for the work we’ll be doing.

  • We build it right. Tear-off down to the deck, a full new roof system, and new flashing and vents. If we find hidden damage during tear-off, like rotted decking, we photograph it and send it in before we fix it.

  • Clean-up, final walk-through, and paperwork. You get the warranty paperwork and the photos of the finished job.

Contractor, Not Public Adjuster:
What That Means For You

There’s a lot of confusion about who does what after a storm, so here it is plainly.

What we do:

  • Inspect your roof and document the damage with photos
  • Explain what we found in plain English
  • Meet your adjuster on the roof and show them the damage
  • Communicate with your insurance company about the scope of the roofing work we’ll be doing
  • Do the repairs and stand behind them

What we don’t do:

  • We don’t represent you on your claim or negotiate your settlement. In Texas, that takes a licensed public adjuster or an attorney.
  • We don’t interpret your policy for you. Read your own policy, or call your agent.
  • We don’t promise your claim will be approved. Nobody honest can.
  • We don’t pay or waive your deductible. In Texas that’s illegal for a contractor, so anyone offering it is breaking the law.

Before Biltmore, Alfredo spent years working property claims, including as an independent catastrophe adjuster. That’s why we document damage the way we do. But on your roof, we’re your contractor.

Call Biltmore Roofing today at 817-714-3366 for your storm damage restoration free inspection and quote.

How to Spot a Storm Chaser

After a big storm, trucks from out of state show up in every neighborhood. Some are fine. Some are gone before the warranty matters. Watch for:

  • An offer to “cover” or “take care of” your deductible. That’s illegal in Texas.

  • Pressure to sign before your adjuster has even seen the roof.

  • A big deposit up front.

  • No local address, or a phone number that doesn’t call back.

  • A one-line estimate with no materials, quantities, or decking price on it.

We’re based in Lewisville, and we’ve put more than 50 roofs on in Valley Ridge Estates alone. We’ll be here after the next storm, and the one after that.

Rebuilding tougher: Class 4 Impact-Resistant Roofs

If your roof has to be replaced anyway, it’s worth asking about an impact-resistant upgrade. Class 4 shingles, TEK stone-coated steel, and Euroshield rubber roofing are all built to take harder hail. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof, so call your agent and ask what yours offers.

One caution on metal: some policies only cover hail damage to a metal roof if the hail goes all the way through. That’s in your policy’s endorsements, so check your declarations page before you choose. We sell metal on how long it lasts, not on future claims.

Other Storm Damage We Fix

Storms don’t stop at the shingles. We also repair and replace storm-damaged gutters and downspouts, siding, and windows, so one contractor handles the whole outside of the house.

A veteran business I want to work with: Alfredo picked up my phone and quickly came to inspect my chimney. We discussed the solutions based on my concern and he tried to save my money by doing the easier way first instead of going straight to the pricey option. I appreciate it a lot. Definitely, I will recommend him for anyone who needs to work with a honest roofing person.

A tree branch poked a hole in my roof, and after being ignored or ghosted by three other roofing companies, Alfredo with Biltmore Roofing completely saved the day. One company couldn't come out for days, another never showed up, and a third didn't even return my call. Alfredo, however, called me back within 5 minutes. He arrived quickly to inspect the damage, provided a very fair and transparent quote, and completed the entire roof repair the same afternoon. While he was up there, he even went above and beyond by proactively sealing other roof vents for me. He made sure the repair looked great with shingles that are a very close match to my existing roof, and the crew meticulously cleaned up all the debris when they were finished. Finding a responsive, honest, and fast roofing contractor can be a nightmare, but Alfredo fixed the damage perfectly before the upcoming rains could cause an indoor leak. I give them a well-deserved 5 stars and will absolutely use Biltmore Roofing for all my future roofing needs!

Last fall we had Biltmore Roofing handle our roof replacement. That project went so well that we hired them to do soffit/facia repair, exterior house painting and gutter replacement which was completed this week. Once again, the experience was outstanding. Alfredo Contreras led both projects. His crews are conscientious, hardworking and detail oriented. In both projects, Alfredo has clearly demonstrated that he is honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend Biltmore Roofing for your exterior home projects!

Alfredo inspected my roof and found it ok. But the chimney was rotten where it connected to the roof. His team completely replaced the chimney, painted it to match existing house color, and set up a way for water to fall around the chimney in the future. The work was great and everyone was friendly and efficient. They even left me the leftover paint! I wasn’t expecting this work was needed, but I am glad I found Alfredo and his team to do it!

FAQ

Does homeowners insurance cover hail damage to my roof?

Most Texas homeowners policies cover sudden storm damage like hail and wind, but every policy is different. Some have cosmetic-damage exclusions, a separate wind and hail deductible, or limits on older roofs or metal roofs. Read your policy or ask your agent. We can show you what the damage on your roof looks like, but your insurance company decides what's covered.

How long do I have to file a roof claim after a storm?

Many Texas policies give you one year from the date of the storm, and some give you less. The exact deadline is in your policy. Hail damage gets harder to tie to a specific storm the longer you wait, so it's worth getting an inspection soon after.

Can you pay or waive my insurance deductible?

No. Texas law makes it illegal for a contractor to pay, waive, or rebate a homeowner's insurance deductible. Your deductible is your responsibility, and any contractor who offers to cover it is breaking the law.

Are you a public adjuster?

No. We're a roofing contractor. We inspect and document the damage, meet your adjuster on the roof, and communicate with your insurance company about the scope of the roofing work we'll do. We don't represent you on your claim or negotiate your settlement.

What if my claim is denied?

A denial isn't always the last word. You can ask your insurance company to explain the decision in writing, and you can ask for a re-inspection. We can share our photos of the damage. If you've signed with us and your claim is denied, our contract lets you cancel within five business days of getting the denial in writing.

Do I need to be home when the adjuster comes?

It helps, but it's not required. What matters most is that someone who knows the roof is up there with the adjuster. We meet them on the roof and walk through the damage we documented.
